What is a diaphragm pressure gauge?


The  SMT3151 CTLT diaphragm seal pressure gauge,

is a special-purpose product specially designed,

a pressure indicator with diaphragm seal,

for the medical and food fields such as medicine, beer, milk warehouse, etc.

The series uses E+H expertise and is designed,

to comply with hygienic standards in the pharmaceutical and food industry.

When should You use a diaphragm seal?



Pressure gauges are often used in extreme conditions in industrial processes,

and some gauges are designed for use in the environment of these difficult processes.

These tough process meters typically include hardened casings,

liquid-filled casings, and a stress-reducing Bourdon tube design,

and they are usually equipped with a diaphragm seal,

to prevent heat or corrosive media and the pressure gauge itself.

Diaphragm seals are protected from dangerous hot spots,

viscous, or pressure gauges with corrosive media,

and significantly extend the life of the equipment.


Understanding diaphragm seals

 

The sealing membrane is connected to the gauge,

and can be a method of direct connection or passage through a capillary.

The operation of the elastomer or flexible metal diaphragm,

in contact with the gauge maintains the process medium.

The chamber between the diaphragm and the pressure gauge is filled with fluid,

to accurately convey the pressure in the process medium from the hydraulic device.

Any change in the medium pressure of the process is sent,

through the flexible diaphragm insertion system,

and then connected to the Bourdon tube of the meter.

 

Diaphragm seals can be easily mounted on gauges using threads,

flanges, wires, sanitary, or other types of connections.

 

In most cases, the diaphragm seal mechanism and diaphragm itself are stainless steel,

but the instrument industry leader, such as Wicker,

also produces other materials for diaphragm seals,

including carbon steel and Hastelloy C-276 for specific applications. The design pressure of Wika's diaphragm seals is applied from 10" Hg to 20,000 PSI and between -130°F to + 752°F.
